Work in Progress
Script Writing:
I started writing my script for my sketch on Wednesday 11th 2020. I had a day off from work and knew I had to start working on my script, since that's what I had planned for the week. Before that day, I was waiting to have more inspiration and motivation to do it, but clearly, it wasn't happening.
So on that day, I decided to just start writing without thinking too much (basically do some automatic writing). I ended up writing 4 pages in my notebook that day, and created all my characters.
On Friday November 20th, I filmed myself saying my script out loud normally, not using the intonations and the speed that my characters are going to speak, and my video was almost 7 minutes. Which was way too long. So I decided that I should re-write it.
I finished writing my second draft on the Monday after, I cut a lot of what my ‘’woo woo spiritual’’ character had to say and made the overall lines shorter so my video would have a more rapid beat.

Here is what I am working with:

I already had a pretty decent camera for filming. (Canon PowerShot SX730 HS)
So I decided to use it. And I bought a small ring light with a tripod that came with it to have better lighting and in case I had to film afterwork (AKA in the dark since we're getting closer to winter)
I spent the week of November 23rd during my lunch break at work (I worked from home that week, luckily) and in the evenings. I used my ring light and the different sources of lighting in my room, but since I filmed on different days and at different times, the lighting might not be super consistent.
According to my schedule, I was supposed to do the final touches to my video during the week of November 30th, I started to choose the footage I wanted to use, and discard the bloopers, but honestly, I didn't do as much as I intended and I ended up procrastinating most of the week... Oh well.
After sorting my many clips out, I realized I had exactly 94 small videos to watch and choose from...
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I took a LOT of different takes
So during the weekend of December 5-6th, I did the biggest part of my editing. I continued a bit on Monday and on Thursday. We are currently Wednesday and I'm still rewatching it to put the final final touches.
My first draft of my final video was a little too long... almost 8 minutes!
My second draft was still longer than what I initially wanted, but still better than the first one.
I finished the final touches of the editing on Thursday the 10th and uploaded it on Youtube.
